November 29th - So much better to be like Nephi!

Hello Family!

I am so glad to hear there are young men preparing to serve a mission. It is definitely going to bless their lives if they are faithful and true to the call. Thanksgiving doesn't exist over here so nothing special happened. Just another day.

This week has been very trying. We had many appointments not falling through. We have been tracting like there's no tomorrow but people like to tell us all the reasons why the can't listen to us and how we are exactly the same. A lot of our investigators have been busy at work. I'm grateful for these challenges because it increases my desire to work harder and strive to obtain the spirit. I know that through exact obedience miracles are wrought. The challenge at hand is great but it's always possible. I always keep in mind that God wants His children to listen and accept our message a lot more than we do. After all He is our Father in Heaven. God has placed me and my companion here for a reason. Times like this it is easy for the natural man to arise or our inner Laman and Lemuel to come out, but it's so much better to be like Nephi, the Nephites, Joseph Smith and the early saints, and endure with patience and understanding that all things work together for good for them that love God. Just like Joseph of Egypt. If God wants us to swim in deep water there is a reason why. We cannot behold with our natural eyes the design of our God and the glory that follow after much tribulation. For after much tribulation come the blessings. (D & C 58:3-4)

I love you all and hope this will help you.

Love,

Elder Brown
